DAY 1 – From Reed Beds for Treatment of Leachate Contaminated Groundwater to a Large “Design and Build” Leachate Treatment Plant
Start with pick up at Birmingham Station 8:45am Pick Up 9:00am Birmingham Airport Car Park
Depart: 9:15am Birmingham Airport Car Park and Travel to Leachate Treatment Plant (Site 1)
Arrive: Visit Midlands Leachate Treatment Plant (Site 1) Depart: Travel to a Humberside Leachate Treatment Plant (Site 2)(Lunch: Sandwiches supplied en-route)
Arrive: 12:45pm Visit Humberside Leachate Treatment Plant (Site 2)
Depart: Travel to a operating Leachate Methane Stripping Plant (Site 3)
Arrive: Visit an operating Leachate Methane Stripping Plant (Site 3)
Depart: Travel to a Leachate Treatment Plant in Lancashire (Site 4)
Arrive: Visit a Leachate Treatment Plant in Lancashire (Site 4)
Depart: For overnight Hotel in Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Arrive: 6:00pm Shrewsbury Sleep Inn Hotel (pre-booked by Enviros) and check-in (Each delegate pays for own accommodation on arrival.)
Depart 7:30pm Coach Pick up for Evening Meal in historic Shrewsbury town restaurant (included in cost)
Depart 10:30pm Return to hotel by coach
DAY 2 - From the Smallest Leachate Treatment Plant Operating (a Wheely bin - Trial!) to the Biggest/Highest Contaminant Loading UK Leachate Treatment Plant
All Meet at the Enviros Treatability Trials Laboratory. View a current Leachate Treatability Trial in progress.
Depart: 9:30am - Travel to North Wales to view a Leachate (Nitrification) Treatment Plant (Site 5)
Arrive: North Wales to view a Leachate (Nitrification) Treatment Plant (Site 5)
Depart: North Wales for a small Leachate Treatment Plant (Site 6) (plus a possible additional Leachate Treatment Plant visit - if time permits)
(Lunch: Sandwiches supplied en-route)
Arrive: At small Leachate Treatment Plant (Site 6)
Depart: Travel to Merseyside Leachate Treatment Plant - the Biggest/Highest Contaminant Loading UK Leachate Treatment Plant (Site 7)
Arrive: Merseyside Leachate Treatment Plant - the Biggest/Highest Contaminant Loading UK Leachate Treatment Plant (Site 7)
Depart: Merseyside and travel to Birmingham Airport Car Park and Drop Off at Birmingham International Railway Station
Secure parking is available at the airport car park. Alternative (cheaper) secure parking can be obtained through other car park operators also serving the airport.
